Encouraging words and Actions

"Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not whither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper." Psalm 1:1-3
'da Dad and I had the blessing of visiting last Saturday w/ some "senior saint" friends.
Our time there was such an encouragement to me as a mom.
This couple raised their (now grown) children to love and serve Jesus. We know their children, and you can see the hard work paid off. They are now enjoying grandchildren and helping support their children's efforts to rear godly offspring.
The one thing I walked away with is, what we do really,really does matter.
I will confess I have become "weary in well doing" at times. It's hard to mother many (and several littles) and not lose perspective some days. Thankfully, God has given us 2 adult children still living at home to remind us (me), they grow up very quickly.
The scripture above was part of our collective "school" Bible reading.
It was a good reminder to me that my children and myself will bring forth good fruit, in it's season. Not when I want things to be done. Corn can't be harvested the day after it's planted. The same applies to the spiritual walk. Our job as parents and Christians is to be faithful to train
and weed.
Look to Jesus.

The Way Things Used to Be

Used to be, families spanned the different developmental stages. It was nothing for the parents to be raising a little one when their oldest child got married. That was normal.
Oh, what I wouldn't give to talk to an older woman like that now!
Well, my good friends and I are just stumbling along, depending on the Holy Spirit to lead us one step at a time. It can be very mind bending at times.
At least God has gifted me with some sisters to share the journey with. Maybe someday we can help the younger women.

Titus 2

God is SO Good

Today is the 2 year anniversary of the fire. God really does work everything for good to those that love Him, to those who are the called according to His purpose. As I sit here, in this wonderful house He provided, I know He does all things well. I have been very ok all day. I hope the rest of my family has felt the same way.
One thing that helped was a visit from a friend. She and her children came up to see Little Britches.
They brought some clothes for him, a turkey, a ham, and approx. 3 ricks of wood! We just never know what to expect from them.
They will be having another baby soon, too. I am looking forward to seeing her new one.
A mix-up at Farmerboy's school got straightened out. Now he can re-enroll for school once the administration office opens.
We started school back up last week. I'm not sure how great an idea that was, considering we may have more company this week. The children are all doing well. NaeNae finished McGuffey's Primer, and has read 9 lessons in McGuffey's 1st Reader.
